Do you want more flexibility, peace of mind, stronger muscles and, as standard, a well-balanced feeling? Then you are on the right website. ​

 

With Yogalimbs we go back to the basics. Relieving and preventing pain, both physical and mental, has been a core goal in the yoga tradition for thousands of years. ​

 

Not feeling 100%? That's a signal to pay attention to your body and mind.

Instead of forcing the person into a pose, we adapt the pose to the person and make yoga work for you, and not the other way around.

More strength, balance and a clear mind are often consequences of correct practice and a positive approach. That's why we breathe with the movement and stretch until we feel a sensation, because pain is absolutely taboo.

 

I meet you where you are at that moment and from there we build further towards your ambition.

Maybe you feel like a weekly group class is sufficient for you in which we generally reconnect between body and mind or we may meet for yoga therapy for a 1 on 1 approach.  ​ ​

 

You can make a reservation for a group lesson in which there are a maximum of 4 people if you want to work on your health in a group more generally. Moreover, your first group class is free to get to know one another :)

You can contact me for yoga therapy if you have a specific question or discomfort or if you simply prefer private yoga classes. ​

Wie ben ik?

Who am I?  

 

I am Maarten, an export product from Limburg.  

 

Yoga came my way in 2017. I registered for a scuba diving course in Koh Toa, Thailand.

This company also organized yoga classes. I had already heard of yoga and I was looking for a new 'sport' so I wanted to check this out.

 

While I was 20m underwater I thought what the link is between scuba diving and yoga? Two completely different disciplines.

 

Breathe consciously!  

 

The calmer you can remain underwater, the more sparingly you use your oxygen and the longer you can enjoy all the beautiful corals. This is exactly what yoga does, it prolongs your life by breathing calmly and consciously. (Sutra 2.49 Pranayama)

 

After 3 courses abroad, India, USA and Nepal, I completed 700H yoga teacher training, Hatha, Ashtanga & Vinyasa yoga.

Recently i'm trained as a pregnancy yoga teacher through New Nature, 50H and I am currently specializing as a yoga therapist at The Yoga Therapy Institute, 625H. 

 

In this way, I want to continue to pass on yoga to everyone who is interested in this age-old practice. Because that is yoga, an exercise. An exercise to come to terms with yourself, to challenge you physically, to literally shift your perspective and to take pleasure in the fact that you feel good about yourself.

Sivananda yoga

Sivananda yoga ​

 

In a homely atmosphere and in a limited group, you will be introduced to the world of Sivananda yoga with a brief explanation of why it has such a positive effect on our body and mind system and this does not have to be 'out there' at all. Try denying that we have a body and a spirit in times when many people lose touch due to an overabundance of impulses. ​ ​ ​ ​

Where did it came from?

 

This style of yoga is derived from Swami Sivananda Saraswati (1887-1963), one of the propagators of Hatha yoga. Here the emphasis is on health, tranquility and unity. Unity of body and mind and unity between people. Let's unite, let's yoga! ​

 

Each class differs from the other with some poses that keep coming back to really teach you something in the long term,

such as the sun salutation.

​

To really feel yoga in your body, regular practice is essential. I again make the link with fitness. By doing strength training now and then you will not build muscle, but with weekly practice in combination with sufficient sleep and a healthy diet you can make a big change in a relatively short time. ​

Here in my home i give yoga to a small group (4p) with the accent on reconnection between body and spirit.
